Ballot Bed is an alternative ballot collector that suggests more intimate voting interaction.

As voting is a private act in a public space, the polling station reveals behaviors surrounding secrecy. In particular, voters’ actions around the ballot box emphasize an attitude of cautious discretion.

Inspired by the memory of hiding objects under the bed and Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tale, The Princess and the Pea, Ballot Bed explores the ballot box as a collective object of confidential storage.
